Le débat sur la parité a focalisé l'attention publique sur la représentation des femmes en politique. Pourtant le rapport des femmes et du politique ne peut se résumer à cette question. Les perspectives féministes ont en particulier mis en évidence l'obstacle que constitue la séparation rigide entre les domaines public et privé. Cette séparation freine considérablement l'expression publique et la reconnaissance politique des intérêts et des points de vue des femmes. Elle contribue à l'ignorance de la question politique du genre, comme en atteste par exemple la demande faite aux femmes de "concilier" vie professionnelle et vie familiale, c'est-à-dire en réalité de s'adapter aux structures et aux pratiques "genrées" de la société. En révélant la face "cachée" de la pensée politique traditionnelle, les critiques féministes aident à renouveler les façons de penser le politique. Ce deuxième rendez-vous à la Bpi sera l'occasion de revenir sur quelques-uns des aspects les plus marquants de l'injustice sociale et politique à l'égard des femmes, les enjeux et les formes actuelles de l'action pour les droits et l'égalité.
