Bei der Betrachtung der politischen und wirtschaftlichen Entwicklung der Europäischen Währungsunion und ihres derzeitigen Zustandes stellen sich drängend Fragen nach den Ursachen, den inneren Zusammenhängen und den Folgen der Euro-Krise. Es müssen Antworten gefunden werden, ob und wie in der Zukunft Krisen dieser Tragweite verhindert werden können und welche politischen, insbesondere aber wirtschafts-, finanz- und geldpolitische Entscheidungen getroffen sowie europarechtliche Konsequenzen gezogen werden müssen.
