"The burning light", which has imprint "Printed by Thomas Cotes for Daniel Frere", and "The magistrates commission", which has imprint "Printed by T. Cotes for Daniel Frere", have separate title pages, pagination sequences and registers. All title pages are dated 1640.

Also issued as part 1 of STC 23306, his "XV. choice sermons", 1640.

Some print faded and some show-through, some pages stained. Beginning to page 35 from Cambridge University Library spliced at end.
