Dagli sciamani centroasiatici ai guerrieri barbari, dagli dèi nordici ai martiri cristiani, senza dimenticare l'evoluzione dell'allevamento, l'affinarsi delle tecniche metallurgiche, lo sviluppo dell'arte della guerra e le relative "visioni del mondo": se i più lontani presupposti del cavaliere medievale sono rintracciabili nella cultura dei nomadi delle steppe che per primi addomesticarono i cavalli, la sacralità e la superiore aura che lo circondano persistono ancora oggi nell'immaginario occidentale. Tra storia ed epica, il racconto di un mito millenario e dei suoi perduranti riflessi.
