Sommario/riassunto

The new multidisciplinary study area of wind engineering was born as a response to the design and construction needs of increasingly daring infrastructures: the lighter materials and the dimensions have made many projects sensitive to the action of the wind and therefore it is necessary to study the applied fluid-dynamics, aero-dynamics of bodies and aeroelastics also for the civil engineering sector. The volume is the first attempt at an organic and complete collection of notions at the advanced university course level (including masters and doctorates), but it also intends to offer important help to those professionals whose activity is carried out in the design, management and development of works of large dimensions sensitive to the action of the wind.

Sommario/riassunto

This volume constitutes a commentary on Article 6 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, guaranteeing the right to life, survival and development. It is part of the series, A Commentary on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child , which provides an article by article analysis of all substantive, organizational and procedural provisions of the CRC and its two Optional Protocols. For every article, a comparison with related human rights provisions is made, followed by an in-depth exploration of the nature and scope of State obligations deriving from that article. The series constitutes an essential tool for actors in the field of children’s rights, including academics, students, judges, grassroots workers, governmental, non-

governmental and international officers. The series is sponsored by the Belgian Federal Science Policy Office.

Sommario/riassunto

In the past two decades, complexity thinking has emerged as an important theoretical response to the limitations of orthodox ways of understanding educational phenomena. Complexity provides ways of understanding that embrace uncertainty, non-linearity and the inevitable 'messiness' that is inherent in educational settings, paying attention to the ways in which the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. This is the first book to focus on complexity thinking in the context of physical education, enabling fresh ways of thinking about research, teaching, curriculum and learning.
