Si le récit reste aujourd’hui fragile dans son retour en grâce, si le réel reste difficile à appréhender par la narration, la fiction peut-elle se glisser dans cet entre-deux ? La fiction peut-elle offrir des formes narratives et discursives inédites ? Peut-elle trouver dans la narration, dont l’attirance cependant doublée de dérision distanciée chez les



écrivains d’aujourd’hui se fait nettement sentir, un support générique acceptable ou bien se cherche-t-elle, par l’entremise, et la mise en œuvre d’autres sémiotiques, une échappée belle à la croisée d’autres genres, d’autres supports ? Quelles sont les conditions de possibilité́, en somme, de son renouveau ou de sa survie ?  Le présent recueil, issu d’une réflexion collective sur les grandes déterminations linguistiques et formelles des fictions narratives française du xxie siècle, tente donc de dégager les spécificités des écritures contemporaines de fiction par rapport aux écritures narratives du xxe siècle.
