Tour à tour symptôme, syndrome ou maladie, la douleur chronique reste un phénomène encore mal élucidé et trop souvent difficile à soulager. On ne parle donc pas d'une douleur mais plutôt de douleurs, non pas d'une stratégie mais bien de stratégies de prise en charge. Actuellement, on ne fait encore que peu de place à des disciplines comme la physiothérapie, l'ergothérapie ou la kinésiologie pour soigner ou contrer la douleur chronique. au mouvement, et c'est dans cette optique que les auteurs ont choisi de traiter de la douleur. Ils présentent la prise en charge de la douleur chronique dans la pratique d'une activité physique régulière encadrée par des professionnels de la santé. En parallèle aux témoignages qui illustrent le rôle destructeur de la douleur, on aborde avec espoir les diverses avenues envisagées par les patients et les professionnels de la santé pour y remédier. |
