This study shows new ways of thinking about how the brain relates to the world, to cognition, and to behaviour. Based on foundations previously established it considers the implications of these ground rules for thalamic inputs, thalamocortical connections, and cortical outputs. The book argues that functional and structural analyses of pathways connecting thalamus and cortex point beyond these to lower centres and through them to the body and the world. |

Scritto a quattro mani dai giornalisti Arcangelo Badolati e Giovanni Pastore, Banditi e schiave è un libro che, per la prima volta, scruta tra le maglie di un fitto intreccio criminale rimasto nell'ombra e offre una ricostruzione del sodalizio stretto tra la mafia albanese e la 'ndrangheta, attivo soprattutto nella parte settentrionale della Calabria, divenuta una sorta di "laboratorio criminale". I banditi sono i criminali albanesi riuniti in clan che mostrano tratti distintivi assai simili a quelli della 'ndrangheta calabrese. Le schiave sono le donne albanesi che, rapite o adescate con l'inganno, vengono comprate, vendute e costrette alla mercificazione del proprio corpo, per produrre danaro col sesso. Sono donne alle quali è stato tolto tutto, anche la loro identità. Nelle pagine prendono corpo, appunto, le operazioni che hanno portato alla luce il turpe mercato che ruota intorno alla schiavizzazione delle donne |

straniere in Calabria e nell'intera penisola e le testimonianze di alcune di loro disegnano scenari agghiaccianti. Strappate alle loro famiglie, caricate come merce su gommoni, una volta giunte in Italia, non possono più tornare indietro. Vengono ammazzate. Ma le donne ammazzate non sono solo quelle albanesi. Accanto a queste donne senza nome vi sono quelle italiane e calabresi che sono tante e stanno diventando tantissime. Le pagine del volume entrano con forza anche nei femminicidi consumati in Calabria, alcuni diventati eclatanti come quello della giornalista Maria Rosaria Sessa, di Tiziana Falbo e della giovanissima Fabiana Luzzi che, accoltellata e bruciata viva a Corigliano il 24 maggio del 2013, è in ordine di tempo il delitto più raccapricciante perché compiuto dal fidanzatino, giovanissimo come lei. A riprova che la crudeltà è una matrice comune di tempi e spazi diversi tra loro. Ma solo apparentemente. |
