Sommario/riassunto

This treatise attempts to answer a controversial question: are political writers obliged to show political engagement in their works? It studies 10 German writers, among them Goethe, Schiller, Kleist and Heine, and finds that these ""unpolitical"" writers were indeed engaged in political activity.
