• Sommario/riassunto: The present book consists of two parts, thus embodying the “two forces” that Bakhtin sees at play in every work of art: form and content. They are accorded equal weight. With regard to form, the book explores the various literary strategies employed by Doderer in his “Divertimenti,” in as much as they are inspired by musical forms. With regard to content the book focuses on the rather gloomy subjects that dominate the "Divertimenti." The aim is to explore in how far these two aspects, ie musical form - a superstructure informed by musical aesthetics - and melancholic content - an oppressive atmosphere, the explicit foregrounding of experiences of depression - depend on each other. The book shows how they form a compelling whole. It is based on a variety of unpublished primary sources that have not been studied before, including an early fragment of “Divertimento No VI” (“Awakening of happy feelings on arrival in the country”) as well as diary sketches and draft outlines of the composition of the work. The ; book is thus able to comprehensively explore the musical techniques and strategies of musical composition of the "Divertimenti." This thorough formal analysis provides new insights into what Steven Paul Scher has called an area of ​​"comparative liminality" - that area in which the conditions are negotiated under which musical techniques can be transferred into "literature." The “Divertimenti” belong to the world of Saturn. By focusing on melancholy and depression - topics that resonate throughout the Divertimenti and provide the dark undertone of the author's later works - the book offers a new reading of Doderer's work; it brings to light depictions of “deperceptive” states. This requires a new explanation of Doderer's own theory of "apperception" and "deperception," and of "first" and "second reality." It will be offered in light of Kristeva's "dark sun." The book explores depictions of melancholy in a broader context and considers potential links between literary and clinical manifestations of melancholy. In view of the intellectual milieu of contemporary Vienna, the present study shows how deeply indebted Doderer's early works are to Viennese Modernism - a quality that has been obstructed by the fact that most of these works were only published after Doderer's death. This presupposes an appreciation of the Wiener Moderne which goes beyond the time span suggested by Gotthart Wunberg's 1981 anthology, “Die Wiener Moderne. Literature, Art and music between 1890 and 1910, ”instead drawing inspiration from“ Vienna 1880-1938. The happy Apocalypse, ”a 1986 exhibition at the Center Pompidou in Paris which, according to Jacques Le Rider, epitomizes the study of Viennese Modernism. Doderer's receptivity for the intellectual, theoretical, and artistic movements of the turn of the 20th century is shown to be more pronounced than previously assumed. While the ambition of Doderer's works ultimately transcends Viennese Modernism, a close exploration of the central tenets of this period can highlight various aspects of his early works, especially his uncompromising will to (musical) form. epitomizes the study of Viennese Modernism. • Sommario/riassunto: This is the most comprehensive study available of the popular theater that developed during the last decades of tsarist Russia. Swift examines the origins and significance of the new "people's theaters" that were created for the lower classes in St. Petersburg and Moscow between 1861 and 1917. His extensively researched study, full of anecdotes from the theater world of the day, shows how these people's theaters became a major arena in which the cultural contests of late imperial Russia were played out and how they contributed to the emergence of an urban consumer culture during this period of rapid social and political change. Swift illuminates many aspects of the story of these popular theaters-the cultural politics and aesthetic ambitions of theater directors and actors, state censorship politics and their role in shaping ; the theatrical repertoire, and the theater as a vehicle for social and political reform. He looks at roots of the theaters, discusses specific theaters and performances, and explores in particular how popular audiences responded to the plays.

• Sommario/riassunto: En esta publicación se compara mediante una reflexión concisa los derechos de exclusividad, en los ámbitos de autor, patentes y marcas, en las jurisdicciones de España, Estados Unidos y Puerto Rico. Estos ; derechos de propiedad (promulgados en estos países) estimulan a crear obras de arte, literarias, musicales, programas de procesamiento de datos y otros. Además, motivan el desarrollo e innovación de artículos, métodos o técnicas para el mejoramiento de la sociedad. También protegen a través de los signos distintivos, a los consumidores y usuarios del mercado, contra actos de confusión sobre el origen, calidad y otros aspectos de los productos y servicios que se ofertan en el comercio. Este texto incluye una doctrina y jurisprudencia comparada de primer orden, lo cual muy bien sirve de referencia para estudiantes, profesores y profesionales en este campo del derecho mercantil. En el primer y segundo capítulo se abordan los derechos de autor y patentes en los países que son parte de este estudio como una actividad intelectual caracterizado por su naturaleza de bienes inmateriales. El capítulo tercero versa sobre el derecho de marcas y como matiz especial trata la figura jurídica de la funcionalidad, de facto o de jure, como excluyente de esta protección en su aspecto tridimensional. El cuarto capítulo trata sobre la aplicación de estos derechos registrables de excluir a otros en el territorio estadounidense utilizando como referencia distintas decisiones de los tribunales de este país. Por último, en el capítulo quinto se exponen las recomendaciones y conclusiones sobre la investigación realizada. El autor obtuvo un grado de Doctor en Derecho (2020) con calificación Sobresaliente y un Máster en Derecho Español Vigente y Comparado (2012) de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. También ostenta un Juris Doctor de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Puerto Rico (2008) con calificación Magna Cum Laude; un Bachillerato (1987) y un Grado Asociado (1982) en Ciencias de la Ingeniería Mecánica de la Universidad de Puerto Rico. Está licenciado para practicar la Abogacía y la Notaría en Puerto Rico.
