Ce livre de philosophie de l'education, presente sous forme de lecons veut entamer une archeologie de la laicite. Partant de son emergence dans un moment 1900 qui la situe dans un contexte de crise voire de declin il propose de ne pas en fixer definitivement la notion sous une forme canonique. Ses analyses s'efforceront au contraire d'en eclairer l'elaboration en remontant vers les matrices de sa naissance : celle, religieuse, de la tolerance, celle, politique, de la liberte et celle, scolaire, de sa premiere institution. Loin de proceder d'une instauration definitive, la laicite se formule et s'enonce en differentes versions. |
