Sommario/riassunto
The Global Gap Analysis is the first study to use species diversity to identify the need for new protected areas. The report suggests that while current protected areas cover many species in need of protection and the amount of land required to produce a more comprehensive system is very small, the global network of protected areas is far from complete.
