• Sommario/riassunto: Der Warschauer Aufstand 1944 ist eines der schmerzlichsten Kapitel der deutsch-polnischen Beziehungen. Die 63 Tage vom Ausbruch bis ; zur Kapitulation der Aufständischen stehen im Zentrum der Erinnerung Polens an den Zweiten Weltkrieg. In Deutschland hingegen wissen nur wenige um die Ereignisse in der polnischen Hauptstadt. Im vorliegenden Band stellen polnische und deutsche Autorinnen und Autoren die Ereignisgeschichte des Warschauer Aufstandes dar. Die Themen reichen von den politischen Ursachen und dem militärischen Umfeld über die komplexen diplomatischen Begleitaktionen bis hin zu den Folgen für die Warschauer Zivilbevölkerung. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt liegt auf der Wahrnehmung des Aufstandes sowie auf der Erinnerungskultur in den beiden Ländern.
