Sommario/riassunto

The most startling secret in history has been lost in the rubble of World War II. The trail to recover it begins in Copenhagen in 1959 when an American agent contacts a Danish war orphan grown into Nordic beauty. The agent is killed. An American army veteran is recruited to contact the Dane; the same day he finds and joins her, an attempt is made to kill them both. Another murder attempt is made the following day, and more to follow. To recover the missing secret, the pair evades when they can, and battles when they can't, agents of the world's largest tyranny, whose mission is to murder the woman. The race for the prize jumps to Munich, then to Heidelberg, back to Munich, back to Copenhagen, across sea and overland to Amsterdam and a very close call, races to Paris, then on to the finish and grim final accounting in London, where, when the prize is finally recovered, the couple faces one final, bloody betrayal!
