Billie Holiday was born on April 7, 1915, in Baltimore, Maryland. In January 1949, she was arrested in San Francisco on narcotic charges. Ms. Holiday was later found not guilty of this drug charge by a jury of six men and six women. Billie Holiday died on July 17, 1959.
