Sommario/riassunto

Marlene Dietrich was born on December 29, 1904, as Mary Magdalene Von Losch, in Berlin, Germany. In 1932, she made a movie in the United States under contract to Paramount Pictures. She took the oath of United States citizenship in Los Angeles. In 1942, Marlene Dietrich received notice from the Internal Revenue Service that she owed them money and she needed to make arrangements to pay them or they would be forced to take action against her. During June and July of 1943, she toured the Midwest in connection with the Treasury Department's War Bond sales. She was married to a German citizen, and had a daughter by him. They accompanied her to New York where the husband stayed most of the time, while Dietrich lived in Los Angeles. Ms. Dietrich was the victim of an extortion attempt in 1940, and was also threatened with kidnaping along with another actress from the same film studio.
