Jane Addams, born in 1860, was the Chairman of the Women's Peace Party in the United States. In 1915, she presided over the first Women's International League (WIL), which was formed to protest against World War I. Elected as the International President of WIL, she continued in that capacity until her death in 1935. Addams started the Hull House in Chicago, Illinois, which continues as a museum today. |
