Dans les années 1950, le procès d’un jeune couple de juifs américains, communistes de surcroît, accusés d’avoir transmis aux Soviétiques le secret de la bombe atomique, a passionné l’opinion dans leur pays et dans le monde entier. Julius et Ethel Rosenberg proclameront leur innocence jusqu’à la chaise électrique. Le climat politique de l’époque ne leur permettait pas d’être entendu.  Le procès devant l’opinion publique commence alors. Il se poursuit encore aujourd’hui. Les uns sont mus par le parti pris ou le remords d’avoir été staliniens ; les autres par un devoir d’humanité et la passion des droits de l’homme.



Mais tous ceux qui ont vécu cette époque éprouvent gêne et affliction à l’évocation de la tragédie de ce couple et de ses deux fils.  Un premier ouvrage du même auteur intitule La tragédie de Julius et Ethel Rosenberg - Le déni de justice est paru en 1986. À partir des archives soviétiques et américaines couvrant la période 1986-1997, aujourd’hui accessibles, le juriste confirme qu’en tenant compte des faits actuellement avérés, le procès et les condamnations doivent être cassés pour déni de justice.
