Cooking fires are the most common type of fire experienced by U.S. households and the leading cause of home fire injuries. The report reflects the results of research conducted by the U.S. Fire Administration and the National Fire Protection Association the types of behaviors and sequences of events that lead to cooking fires and develops recommendations for behavioral mitigation strategies that will reduce such fires and their resultant injuries and fatalities.
