It aims to deepen the knowledge about violence practiced by young people, based, among others, on the following question: why, in the same family, only some develop delinquent behaviour? Rio de Janeiro and Pernambuco were chosen, with a high incidence of juvenile offenses, to look more closely at the universe of those who committed crimes and their families - who are often not involved in crime. 61 adolescent offenders were interviewed in four institutions (three in Rio, one in Recife) and 31 of their brothers or cousins who stated that they had never committed infractions. Part of their testimonies is published in this work that seeks to understand these young people, their anxieties and anxieties in the experience of the present and construction of the future. |
