Sommario/riassunto

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 2022 ACM HPDC'22 Workshop on Emerging Open Storage Systems and Solutions (EMOSS'22), 2022 edition. This year's workshop focuses on some of the latest trends in storage systems technologies, storage architectures and associated new storage and I/O paradigms. These trends will be looked from the vantage point of new emerging I/O intensive workflows in Data Intensive Computing (HPC, AI, inclusive). It is pretty clear that existing solutions and concepts designed when underlying storage technology and I/O workflow assumptions were different needs to be reworked to meet the challenges posed by data intensive Exascale HPC and AI era. Similar to last year's edition, we will have this conference as a invited speakers only Virtual workshop - where we have identified some of the best in class trends and invited the innovators to share their experiences with the Storage and I/O community. EMOSS'22 gives storage & I/O researchers, data center administrators, storage technologists, and HPC/AI application experts a great forum to discuss and share thoughts with these innovators.
