This volume constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Recent Trends in Image Processing and Pattern Recognition, RTIP2R 2021, held in Msida, Malta, in December 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the conference was held online. The 19 full papers and 14 short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 84 submissions.
