|
Verwandtschaft strukturiert soziale Beziehungen. Besonders markant im ausgehenden 18. Jahrhundert war der beobachtbare Anstieg von Heiraten in nahen Verwandtschaftsgraden: zwischen Cousin und Cousine, Schwager und Schwägerin. Solchen Verbindungen standen nach kanonischem Recht jedoch Eheverbote entgegen, zu deren Aufhebung es einer päpstlichen Dispens bedurfte. Zudem griff der Staat nun in diese bis dahin kirchliche Domäne ein. Auf die wechselnden Dispenspolitiken reagierten Behörden, bischöfliche Konsistorien und Brautpaare auf vielfältige Weise. Die Studie untersucht die Dispenspraxis in den vier Diözesen Brixen, Chur, Salzburg und Trient. Sie verknüpft die aufwändigen kirchlichen und staatlichen Verfahrenswege mit Logiken der häuslichen Organisation. |
