Die folgenden Beiträge sind Prof. Dr. Rudolf Bächtold zu seinem siebzigsten Geburtstag am 27. Oktober 1987 gewidmet. Der Kreis der Autoren wurde bewußt auf jene Freunde und Kollegen beschränkt, die mit dem Jubilar über das Slavische Seminar Basel und über die Osteuropageschichte besonders verbunden sind.
