"Immer mehr Menschen achten heute auf eine möglichst vegetarische Ernährung mit biologisch hergestellten Lebensmitteln, sie trainieren ihren Körper mit Yoga, Gymnastik und Achtsamkeitsübungen und vertrauen auf naturheilkundliche Behandlungsmethoden. Ihre Freizeit verbringen sie in der freien Natur bei Sport, Wanderungen und Bergtouren und auch ihr Zuhause soll möglichst im Grünen liegen. Die vorliegende Studie untersucht die historischen Ursprünge dieser Suche nach einem gesunden und naturverbundenen Lebensstil in der modernen Gesellschaft. Sie erzählt und analysiert die Geschichte der Lebensreform in der Schweiz zwischen 1850 und 1950 in ihrer dynamischen Vielgestaltigkeit und konzentriert sich im Besonderen auf die Naturheilbewegung, den Vegetarismus, die Jugendbewegung, die Reformpädagogik und die Freiwirtschaft"-- Back cover.
