« La chose est ingénieuse, et tout à fait de ta manière : car pour ce qui est de l’usage des artifices, à nous le gâteau ! ». C’est ainsi que le personnage du parent, dans Les Thesmophories d’Aristophane, salue l’invention du dernier stratagème d’Euripide, soulignant du même coup l’importance de la ruse dans la dramaturgie de ce poète. Se proposant d’approfondir l’intuition aristophanienne, la présente étude explore, après deux chapitres liminaires consacrés au vocabulaire euripidéen de la ruse et à la typologie de ses acteurs, la fécondité dramaturgique du scénario rusé dans les tragédies d’Euripide, de son insertion dans l’intrigue globale à son développement en scènes-types de planification, de tromperie et de dévoilement. D’expédients salvateurs en pièges meurtriers, la ruse euripidéenne apparaît comme une forme théâtrale privilégiée pour l’expérimentation des ambiguïtés de la parole et du visible. À travers la mise en scène des machinations de ses astucieux héros, le poète s’inscrit dans les débats intellectuels de l’Athènes des sophistes. Jupiter is one of the most spectacular observing targets for amateur astronomers. There are various books about observing the planets, and several about Jupiter itself, but this is the only book to deal with the giant planet - its formation, structure, and incredible physics - as well as with the practical aspects of observation of the planet and its moons. The concept of the book - and of the series - is to present an up-to-date detailed physical and astrophysical description (part one); and then (part two) to consider how best to observe and image the giant planet.
