• Sommario/riassunto: Die Studie analysiert und rekonstruiert die gesellschaftliche und wirtschaftliche Situation der indigenen Bewohner Süditaliens zur Zeit der sog. "Griechischen Kolonisation" und die selektive Nutzung fremder Sachkultur unter Beibehaltung einer Identität, die in weiten Teilen von indigenen Vorstellungen und Traditionen geprägt blieb. Sie arbeitet mit dem Begriff der Identität, was die Auswertung sich überlappenden Handlungs- und Verhaltensweisen ermöglicht, anstatt in binären Gegensätzen zwischen Griechen und Indigenen zu verharren. Zusätzlich diskutiert die Arbeit erstmals detailliert die potenzielle Rolle mobiler Viehwirtschaft (Transhumanz) im Kontext des archaischen Süditalien.
