Les années 1930 voient une montée des revendications en faveur de la langue occitane et en particulier de son enseignement. Avec la défaite de 1940 et la mise en place de l’État français du maréchal Pétain, cette revendication se trouve relancée. Communauté d’idée avec le nouveau régime pour les uns, pragmatisme pour les autres, il s’agit en tout cas d’une période ambigüe pour le mouvement d’oc et ce à plus d’un titre. Car, en face, l’État n’est pas forcément plus réceptif qu’auparavant et les oppositions sont tout aussi virulentes. Il n’en demeure pas moins qu’il s’agit là d’un moment clé pour la revendication et les mouvements qui la portent : tout un système de réseaux se met en place et une nouvelle génération de militants commence à émerger. camps, une nouvelle revendication se fait jour qui révèle autant les lignes de fractures qui traversent le mouvement d’oc que celles qui, dans la société française, partagent opposants et soutiens des langues dites régionales. C’est ce que montrent les débats internes sur la pédagogie et les âpres discussions autour de la loi Deixonne. |
