Island Melanesia is a remarkable region in many respects, from its great ecological and linguistic diversity, to the complex histories of settlement and interaction spanning from the Pleistocene to the present. Archaeological research in Island Melanesia is currently going through a vibrant phase of exciting new discoveries and challenging debates about questions that apply far beyond the region. This volume draws together a variety of current perspectives in regional archaeology for Island Melanesia, focusing on Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands, New Caledonia and Papua New Guinea. Ce livre d’histoire traite de problèmes majeurs d’aujourd’hui : rôle et devenir du syndicalisme, transformation du salariat, formes et contenus de l’État social, perspectives d’Europe sociale, etc. Le regard neuf qu’il jette sur les syndicalismes européens à leur apogée éclaire les réalités actuelles par un retour sur les débats et les choix des années 1960- 1985, période de transition des derniers feux des Trente Glorieuses vers les temps difficiles qui allaient suivre. L’analyse proposée par une trentaine de spécialistes de six pays (historiens, sociologues, politologues) repose sur la prise en compte de différents types de situations et de questions. Elle envisage les orientations et pratiques syndicales dans deux secteurs d’activité (automobile et enseignement), face aux institutions (l’entreprise et l’État social) et aux nouveaux mouvements sociaux. Elle évoque également les mutations du militantisme, des représentations et des imaginaires à travers l’étude de l’évolution des opinions publiques et des modes de communication. L’étude se distingue des travaux antérieurs par la richesse de l’information réunie, des voies explorées comme des interprétations avancées, et par l’option comparative retenue et appliquée. |
