irréflexion. On tend à décréter le comparable, à stipuler l’incomparable. Comparer en sciences sociales, c’est répondre aux défis du découpage et de l’asymétrie des objets. C’est également forger les outils d’une méthode qui s’ajuste à des écarts. Cet ouvrage reflète les approches très différenciées dans lesquelles s’inscrit la comparaison. Pour les uns, celle-ci est une ressource de l’analyse ; pour les autres, elle constitue la matière d’un programme de recherche. Pour tous, l’acte de comparer pose le cadre théorique de leur réflexivité scientifique. Il définit aussi l’horizon d’un langage commun. Il désigne enfin l’objet observé : des sociétés composées d’acteurs qui ne cessent de qualifier leur situation par comparaison. |
