|
Dossier : Ce dossier propose une analyse critique de la catégorie de « cultes à mystères » dans l’Antiquité grecque et romaine. Avec, en toile de fond, le modèle dominant des mystères d’Éleusis, il croise approches chronologiques et géographiques de façon à faire apparaître de possibles évolutions de ces cultes aux périodes hellénistique et romaine. Les enquêtes menées ici passent donc à la fois par des études de cas de « cultes à mystères » (Dionysos, Artémis d’Éphèse, mystères impériaux, etc.) et par une réflexion qui interroge la pertinence des outils théoriques et de la méthodologie employés par les historiens des religions. Varia : Politique et cosmogonie, anthropologie juridique, théories grecques de l'économie, statues sans visage à Cyrène, règlements religieux. |

The Old Testament, and biblical scholarship itself, distinguishes between mythical and historical.
