Il est presque impossible aujourd’hui de trouver du travail, de s’inscrire à l’université, ou de faire des démarches administratives sans disposer d’une adresse électronique ou faire usage des réseaux sociaux et des moteurs de recherche sur le Web. Les bibliothèques se sont rapidement positionnées pour accompagner ce tournant numérique en ouvrant des ateliers d’initiation à l’informatique, à l’Internet puis au numérique. Dans cet ouvrage, un collectif de chercheurs (sciences de l’éducation, sciences politiques, sociologie, anthropologie) et de bibliothécaires (lecture publique notamment) reviennent sur l’expérience des « ateliers Internet » et analysent l’apport spécifique des bibliothèques en France et à l’étranger dans la construction d’une culture numérique. Au-delà du thème de la fracture numérique, qui imposerait une ligne de partage entre les citoyens connectés et les autres, ces auteurs indiquent que les lignes de rupture sont plurielles ; les usagers qui prennent le chemin des « ateliers Internet » cherchent tout à la fois à faire face aux injonctions sociales de la société de l’information, à acquérir des savoir-faire qu’ils considèrent comme nécessaires mais aussi à se ressaisir comme individus compétents, intégrés, reconnus. Ces ateliers en bibliothèque constituent des tiers lieux essentiels, au cœur de la cité, où peut s’opérer une transition numérique entre des façons d’apprendre, de communiquer, de travailler, de se lier à l’autre et de faire société. |

This book represents an attempt to fully review the phenomenon of the blogosphere. The intention is to provide a reliable guide to understanding and analyzing the world of the unimaginable number of diverse blogs, each consisting of innumerable posts, which in their entirety form the blogosphere. We go on to answer the questions of how to grasp the complexity of the blogosphere and extract useful knowledge from it. In setting out to write this book, our central aim was to increase the reader’s awareness and understanding of the blogosphere phenomenon, including its structure and characteristics. This can be achieved through a better understanding of individual blogs and their particular technical characteristics, as well as a deeper knowledge of how a single blog is embedded and interconnected within the entire blogosphere. The shape and form of the blogosphere can be described using the analogy of different continents. In our description the defining features and characteristics of the continents are illustrated by paradigmatic example blogs. Following on from the structural analysis we provide details of the available methods and describe the complex challenge of automatically retrieving information from the abundance of data contained in the blogosphere. Finally, we present our blog search platform, called BLOGINTELLIGENCE and describe all the tools and features we have developed during the last couple of years to explore the blogosphere. . |
