Die vorliegende Studie bildet die Variationsbreite und Vielschichtigkeit der religiösen Alltagspraxis ab und gewährt tiefgründige Einblicke in |

muslimische Lebenswirklichkeiten. In den qualitativen und quantitativen Analysen wird erstmals Muslimen, die keine aktiven Mitglieder von islamischen Organisationen sind und die die überwältigende Mehrheit der Bevölkerungsgruppe stellen, besondere Beachtung zuteil. Um angemessen auf die Herausforderungen einer pluralen Gesellschaft reagieren zu können, bieten die Autoren eine wissenschaftlich fundierte Grundlage für eine sachliche Debatte zur Präsenz der Muslime in Europa und für praktische Handlungsempfehlungen. Denn gerade die muslimische Diversität als Ausgangspunkt herzunehmen, eröffnet vielfältige Chancen und Potentiale für die differenzierte Beurteilung von Integrationsprozessen, für die (Weiter-)Entwicklung migrationspolitischer Maßnahmen, für die Verbesserung religionspädagogischer Angebote sowie für Bemühungen, die islamische Theologie im aktuellen westeuropäischen Kontext neu zu denken. Die Zielgruppen Sozial-, Politik-, Erziehungs- und Religionswissenschaftler mit den Schwerpunkten Islam- und Migrationsforschung. Die Autoren Dr. Ednan Aslan ist Professor für Islamische Religionspädagogik und leitet das Institut für Islamische Studien der Universität Wien. Jonas Kolb ist Soziologe, Projektmitarbeiter und Lehrbeauftragter am Institut für Islamische Studien der Universität Wien. Dr. Erol Yıdız ist Professor für Erziehungswissenschaft mit dem Schwerpunkt „Migration und Bildung“ am Institut für Erziehungswissenschaft der Universität Innsbruck. |
