Sommario/riassunto

This book explores, for the first time, the turbulent social history of churchyards and cemeteries over the last 150 years. Using sites from across rural North Yorkshire, the text examines the workings of the Burial Acts and discloses the ways in which religious politics framed burial management. It presents an alternative history of burial which questions notions of tradition and modernity, and challenges long-standing assumptions about changing attitudes towards mortality in England. Sommario/riassunto

The United States and Mexico have a close and complex bilateral relationship, with extensive economic linkages as neighbours and partners under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Bilateral relations are characterised by strong commercial and cultural ties and co-operation on a range of bilateral and international issues. In recent years, security issues have dominated the bilateral agenda, as the United States has supported Mexican President Felipe Calderon's campaign against drug trafficking organisations (DTOs) and organised crime. This book is an overview on the background, history, economic trends, and current issues facing Mexico today.
