• Sommario/riassunto: Eine Bestandsaufnahme unseres Wissens über mittelalterliche und neuzeitliche medizinische Texte und ihre Fachtermini und deren Bedeutungen steht bis heute aus. Dabei sind medizinische Texte des Mittelalters und der Frühen Neuzeit eine wichtige Quelle, um zum einen das Schreiben über den Körper, seine Krankheiten und seine Heilung in verschiedenen Phasen der deutschen und europäischen Sprach- und Kulturgeschichte im Hinblick auf die Vergangenheit zu beleuchten. Zum anderen erlaubt die systematische Erforschung der medizinischen Textlandschaft einen Bezug zur Gegenwart, indem historisch-medizinische Konzepte und ihre Versprachlichung mit heutigen Sichtweisen und Fachbegriffen verglichen werden. Die Beiträge des Sammelbandes geben Impulse für die historische und internationale Fachsprachenforschung. Dabei wird vor allem auch die Digitalisierung der Quellengrundlage thematisiert, um diese für die qualitative und quantitative Forschung zugänglich zu machen. Der Sammelband regt an zum Dialog zwischen Medizin, Geschichts- und Sprachwissenschaft.; Medieval and early modern medical treatises are a major source for understanding how people wrote about the body, illness, and healing during different phases of European linguistic and cultural history. Research on the landscape of older medical works also relates to the present, by developing historical comparisons between historical medical concepts and their expression and today's perspectives and terminology.

• Sommario/riassunto: This book focuses on how firms should engage ethical choices in developing and deploying digital technologies. Digital technologies are devices that rely on rapidly accelerating digital sensing, storage, and transmission capabilities to intervene in human processes. While the ethics of technology is analyzed across disciplines from science and technology studies (STS), engineering, computer science, critical management studies, and law, less attention is paid to the role that firms and managers play in the design, development, and dissemination of technology across communities and within their firm. This book covers the topic from three angles. First, it illuminates diverse facets of the intersection of technology and business ethics. Second, it uses themes to explore what business ethics offers to the study of technology and, third, what technology studies offer to the field of business ethics. Each field brings expertise that, together, improves our understanding of the ethical implications of technology.
