Das hier erstmals kritisch und kommentiert edierte Werk ist Rists neunte Sammlung von geistlichen Liedern und ein herausragendes Dokument der frühneuzeitlichen, auf biblische Texte des Neuen Testaments bezogenen Lyrik. Geboten werden 82 Lieder zu neutestamentlichen Basistexten sowie im Vorspann eine Widmungsvorrede an den Rat der Stadt Danzig, eine programmatische Präfation an die Leser und zahlreiche Ehrenschriften, die Rists Gelehrtennetzwerk offenlegen. Für die Kompositionen, die als Höhepunkte musikalischer Kunstfertigkeit angesehen werden dürfen, sorgte der in Lüneburg an St. Lamberti tätige Organist Christian Flor. |
The work, critically edited for the first time with commentary, is Rist’s ninth collection of sacred songs, and an extraordinary document of early modern poetry based on biblical texts from the New Testament. Along with 82 songs about New Testament texts, the volume includes many dedicatory pieces that reveal Rist’s scholarly network. Christian Flor composed the musical scores. |
