Long description: Warum scheiterte die Demokratiebewegung im Arabischen Frühling? Warum bleibt der Aufbau demokratisch regierter Staaten in Afrika immer wieder im Ansatz stecken? Und warum werden ethnische und nationale Konflikte nicht auf demokratischem Weg gelöst? Der in Äthiopien geborene, in Dschibuti aufgewachsene und nach Deutschland emigrierte Somalier Mohammed Ahmed Hassen geht in seinem Buch diesen Fragen am Beispiel von Äthiopien und Ägypten nach. In seinem Werk bietet er einen Einblick in die Psychologie der Macht, die Kolonialgeschichte beider Länder und deren Wirkung bis in die Gegenwart sowie die jahrhundertealte Demokratie des Volkes der Oromo. |
