• Sommario/riassunto: Die Thematisierung der schädigenden Folgen des Alkoholismus in der Schwangerschaft ist noch heute weitgehend ein Tabu. Auch 40 Jahre nach seiner Erstbeschreibung 1973 ist die dauerhafte Schädigung des noch ungeborenen Kindes durch Alkoholabusus in der Schwangerschaft weitgehend unbekannt. Die zweite, aktualisierte und erweiterte Auflage beinhaltet neben der ausführlichen Beschreibung des Fetalen Alkoholsyndroms (FAS) sowie der Fetalen Alkohol-Spektrum-Störungen (FASD) auch Informationen in Bezug auf die Entdeckung des Syndroms, zur Klinik, Diagnostik (4-Digit Diagnostic Code), Epidemiologie, Pathogenese, Psychopathologie und zum Langzeitverlauf bis ins Erwachsenenalter (FAS adult).
