Sommario/riassunto |
This is the first collection of Radcliffe-Brown's work chosen to represent his books as well as his essays. It includes some classic pieces, and also one or two lesser-known items. Radcliffe-Brown was a pioneer who established structural, sociological anthropology, in the face of the entrenched traditions of ethnology and social evolutionism.<BR> First published in 1977. |

Sommario/riassunto |
Charles G. Rebozo was born on November 17, 1912, in Tampa, Florida. In 1969, Charles Gregory "Bebe" Rebozo received $100,000 from a third party as a campaign contribution to the Republican Party, but he never gave it to them. He kept $100,000 in a safe deposit box and wanted to have it returned to the ultimate contributor, Howard Hughes. Rebozo, a close friend of President Richard M. Nixon, received a letter threatening to kill him in 1974. Rebozo advised that he didn't feel threatened by the letter. The person whose name was on the return address denied sending the letter and/or knowing anything about it. President Nixon often vacationed in the home and/or next door to Rebozo's residence in Key Biscayne, Florida. In 1976, Rebozo was the subject of a bank fraud investigation concerning a loan that he had taken out at the Hudson Valley National Bank, Yonkers, New York. The loan application stated it was for real estate, but it was used to make a business loan. Rebozo repaid the loan with interest and the Hudson Valley National Bank filed no complaint. |
