|
Quanti "corpi" ha una regina? Qual è il significato di più "corpi"? Come è stato costruito e percepito il corpo di genere nel contesto delle corti europee nel corso degli ultimi cinque secoli? Queste sono alcune delle domande poste in questa antologia, un contributo al dibattito in corso provocato da Ernst H. Kantorowicz nella sua opera fondamentale del 1957, The Kings Two Bodies. Sulla base sia delle auto-presentazioni testuali che delle rappresentazioni visive appare una graduale trasformazione della regina: una figura sacra/provvidenziale nel periodo medievale e della prima età moderna, una moglie borghese ideale durante la fine del XVIII e XIX secolo e una stella (ri) presentazione della regalità nel secolo scorso. I mass media del XX secolo hanno prodotto le regine delle celebrità e delle star del cinema personificate dalla contestata ed enigmatica Nefertiti dell'antico Egitto, la misteriosa Elisabetta (Sisi) d'Austria, Grace Kelly come regina di Hollywood e Monaco e Romy Schneider come l'imperatrice inventata. |
