Comment élabore-t-on le trajet que suivra un véhicule blindé entre ses différents points de dépôt et de cueillette ? Cet ouvrage s'attache à montrer que ces décisions ne sont pas le fruit du hasard et qu'elles sont dictées par un souci de rationalisation. Ce manuel est destiné aux étudiants en techniques de transport, en gestion, en génie industriel et en recherche opérationnelle. Les méthodes mathématiques sont présentées grâce à des exemples et des exercices soigneusement choisis pour frapper l'imagination afin que les concepts décrits soient mieux saisis. Les premières sections des différents chapitres présentent de façon élémentaire les algorithmes utilisés dans la pratique et les concepts requis pour les décrire et les expliquer ; les développements théoriques, les modèles mathématiques abstraits, les preuves de la validité des algorithmes sont en général placés dans une section complémentaire réservée aux étudiants plus avancés. Dans cette deuxième édition, les auteurs ont fait de nombreuse mises à jour, notamment en ce qui a trait à la modernisation des outils informatiques. Le site Internet relié au livre a lui aussi été enrichi et permet aux lecteurs de résoudre la grande majorité des exercices à l'aide d'Excel. |
