The understanding of pain has undergone extraordinary development



over the last 25 years. Half of all medical visits are initiated because of pain. The need for all clinicians and trainees to have a foundational knowledge of pain has become more critically important than ever. Not surprisingly, most books on pain medicine are almost all written by ""pain management doctors,"" physicians who've trained in ""pain medicine"" and devote their lives to treating pain.
