Mit der dekonstruktiven Analyse des Diskurses zur Lernberatung in der Weiterbildung wird ein innovativer methodologischer Zugang zu einer zentralen pädagogischen Diskussion vorgelegt. Die Aporien des Weiterbildungsdiskurses über das Prinzip der Selbststeuerung, die Beratungskommunikation und den Status des Subjekts werden in den Blick gebracht. Der Text bietet theoretisch interessierten Lernberaterinnen und -beratern eine bemerkenswerte Grundlagenarbeit und Studierenden oder Lehrenden ein gelungenes Beispiel des Einsatzes poststrukturalistischer Figuren in den erziehungswissenschaftlich-erwachsenenpädagogischen Diskurs.
