It is generally accepted in the West that Buddhism is a 'peaceful' religion. Ce livre de Victorien Lavou Zoungbo constitue une tentative d’articulation de ses travaux autour de la « présence-histoire » des Noirs en Amérique Latine. Il y met particulièrement en exergue les rapports contradictoires des imaginaires sociaux latino-américains aux Noirs. Ces derniers, bien que rendus invisibles ou vécus comme tels par cette structure d’aliénation dont parlait Frantz Fanon, ne cessent cependant pas de fonctionner comme un commutateur d’identités aussi bien individuelles ou collectives que locales, régionales ou nationales. Le livre insiste aussi sur le devenir-sujet des Noirs en Amérique Latine. Il s’agit là d’un processus qui s’est renforcé considérablement à partir de la décennie 1990, suite à des décisions politiques, comme en Colombie, mais surtout du fait même de la mobilisation publique des Noirs. Cela a fatalement conduit à des repositionnements identitaires mais a aussi entraîné une redéfinition de certaines catégories et de certains présupposés, surtout anthropologiques, qui ont servi (et servent encore) à dire le parcours historique des Noirs en Amérique ainsi que leur vécu. |
