This book argues that Bernard Lonergan's transcendental method offers an approach to theology that is in some sense hermeneutical. Many would consider such a project surprising, given the debate that has arisen between those who advocate a transcendental approach to theology and those who contend that a hermeneutical approach furnishes a more adequate theological method in the light of contemporary intellectual developments.
