Sommario/riassunto

In 2008, the report Working Conditions Laws 2006-2007: A global review (ILO, 2008) was first published, which drew on the information contained in TRAVAIL's database. In view of the interest it generated, we have decided to issue an update of that report. The present edition offers a succinct and easy-to-read review of national legal developments in improving the quality of working life, enhancing productivity and advancing social objectives, such as preserving workers' health and safety, reconciling work-life and work-family balance, and promoting equality.
