Que n’a-t-on écrit sur le désenchantement des générations littéraires au xixe siècle ! Les fractures de l’Histoire, au lendemain de la Révolution de 1789, les retombées des Trois Glorieuses, les désillusions au soir de 1848 et de la Commune, ont engendré nombre de meurtrissures et de désarrois. Face aux turbulences du réel, une nouvelle sensibilité déchirée se développe et se prolonge jusqu’à nous. Et pourtant... peu d’écrivains ont échappé à la tentation de l’enchantement, comme si les déchirements des désillusions et de la solitude n’avaient existé que pour donner naissance, dans l’exaltation et la sacralisation de l’art, à une écriture magique capable, en disant le mal qui nous mine, de l’enchanter. Ce livre est un hommage à l’auteur de L’Enchantement littéraire, Yves Vadé. Il regroupe un ensemble de réflexions inquiètes de découvrir, du « labyrinthe enchanté » à « l’exaltation du quotidien », les thèmes, les figures et les formes énonciatives de l’enchantement. On y trouvera les silhouettes du roman arthurien et de Don Quichotte ; on y entendra les musiques de Rousseau et de Chateaubriand, ouvrant le spectacle de deux siècles qui n’en finit pas de dérouler, allegro vivace ou andante, à travers cris et chuchotements, le grand opéra de la modernité. |
