Sommario/riassunto

This IBM Redbooks publication is for installers of IBM WebSphere Studio Application Monitor for Multiplatforms, including performance analysts, WebSphere administrators, and technical managers. Our goal is to provide a useful overview about installing WebSphere Studio Application Monitor and, more importantly, to offer step-by-step instructions with detailed examples and illustrations. Part 1 of this book is an executive overview of IBM WebSphere Studio Application Monitor Version 3.1. Part 2 provides more detailed descriptions about WebSphere Studio Application Monitor installation and configuration planning. Part 3 is about installing the Application Monitor Managing Server. We provide detailed step-by-step installation instructions. Part 4 describes the installation of the Data Collector component that monitors WebSphere Application Server in distributed environments (Microsoft Windows, IBM AIX 5L, Linux, and Sun Solaris). Part 5 describes the installation of the Data Collector components for monitoring WebSphere Application Server, CICS Transaction Server for z/OS, and IMS for z/OS. Part 6 contains supplemental information that

might be of help in your installation efforts, including additional testing and verification procedures, and guidance and troubleshooting suggestions. Part 7 contains appendixes with additional reference material.
