This volume, which had its genetic moment in a couple of conferences held in Pistoia and Florence during the celebrations of the Day of Remembrance in 2014, moves along these two bumpy paths of making memory. At the center, the work by Andrea Devoto on the memory of the political deportation to Tuscany. The authors hosted here have tried to weave links and point out new ways of analysis and reflections accompanied by the awareness that the keystone of the past lies in the present.
