Urban planning has the difficult task of studying the habitat in its various aspects, with the aim of introducing functional transformations in response to community problems. However, being an experimental discipline, the methods of approach and processing can be strongly differentiated from each other. The book collects summaries of some degree theses representative of the various problems and existing disciplinary areas, elaborated in the Department of Urban Planning and Territorial Planning of the University of Florence from 2000 to 2004. Topical issues such as identity protection are explored historical, the rethinking of the current city, of obsolete areas and urban voids, paths and spaces of relationship, sustainable development and planning. |
